another living room inspiration

although i like minimalistic spaces, in part b/c i'm forced to due to gene's taste, I also find this room to be quite appealing and livable. maybe it's the neutral colors in the entire space? what do you think? slightly too cluttered? the painting is a bit off but that fire place is quite lovely. and look at those colors on the book shelf!

finding the perfect artwork for any living space is a definite challenge. inspired by simplicity... i've been almost gravitating towards simple pieces like the graphic type treatment below. (something I can probably make myself or find on etsy), or solid canvas pieces, lacquered pieces are quite unique as well.

I <3 Trenches! I've always enjoyed clicking through the shopbop look book. What do you think of these unique looks I found there? They are definitely combos I would never think of putting together, but they come together quite well.

Thanks to Kylie at Bandelle Blog, I checked out the Conde Nast Store online. Interesting Vogue covers from back in the day (1920's...30's..40's) are for sale as art. You like? Art and fashion back then were almost more trendy and modern...is that possible? What do you think?

Marley and Me arrived via Netflix this weekend. It was cute, sad, etc, and filled with montages. Of course, aside from the story, I noticed Jennifer Aniston's wardrobe. I found her outfit below to be particularly interesting. Romper-like dress. I had been window shopping earlier in the day, and found a couple of dresses at bebe with somewhat similar looks.
